Video | Superintendent School Safety Message
I'm Superintendent Troy Bales, and this morning I met with Sergeant Snyder of the Phoenix Police Department to discuss our continued efforts to maintain safe schools. We'd like to ask for your help in addressing some very important issues related to school threats.
Around the state, and a handful of times in PVSchools, students are making threats, sometimes intended as a prank, and it’s important to know that there are serious consequences. Students, making these threats, whether intended as a joke or not, can be charged anywhere from a misdemeanor to a felony.
These are very serious consequences, and we’re asking for our community’s help. Please talk to your children and your young adults about school threats. Parents, guardians, students, and our community should never hesitate to call or email the school and law enforcement if they hear or see information that might pose a threat to safety.
If students need help, please encourage them to seek out a school administrator, or talk to you about any potential safety issues they are facing.
Tips can always be reported anonymously through www.anonymoustips.com.
Remember here in PV, if you see or hear something, say something.
Thank you for your support, and thank you for choosing PVSchools.
